In 1981 an informal business association which had developed between Donald Scott ,Patrick and Perry Walker was incorporated as Tropical Air Conditioning & Refrigeration company Ltd. The opportunity to supply a growing market with air conditioning and refrigeration parts was irresistible. The challenges were great but not daunting as the rewards seemed attractive. What was once the sideline soon became the major employment for the founders. The foresight of these gentlemen put them on a growth path almost from inception, from its initial objective of service to the air conditioning industry, Tropical is to date a major distributor of air conditioning and refrigeration units.

The complementary activities augured well for the expansion of the business to become a major player in their market and one of the largest distributors of air conditioning parts. The company soon outgrew its offices at 9 Retirement Road and even their second location at 33 Brentford Road. A permanent home was built at 56a Brentford Road in 1984.

As the company grew, it extended it's sales and services to customers in the northern and western region of the island. Now with island-wide clientele comprised of institution and industrial, commercial and residential customers in the retail market and resellers in the wholesale market.
